Magnetglaze is a cost-effective secondary glazing product that is easy to install with simple tools. Steel tape is stuck to the window surround and magnetic tape to a glazing sheet so the sheet clips onto the steel to create a thermal seal, which provides excellent insulation. The sheet can be instantly removed for ventilation and access.
Available in 2 sizes, Magnetglaze (13mm) and Magnetglaze Extreme (25mm) are suitable for the full range of window sizes from small to large and even those that prove particularly draughty. Magnetglaze Extreme should not need extra support, but pins may help locate the sheet, especially useful as these sheets will tend to be larger/heavier and therefore harder to handle. We DO NOT recommend use of glass with either of our magnetic secondary glazing systems.
As with the entire Easyfix Secondary Glazing Range, Magnetglaze and Magnetglaze Extreme have the potential to cut energy costs by reducing heat loss and eliminating draughts, with the added benefit of noise reduction.
Each Magnetglaze kit comprises adhesive steel and magnetic tapes that are approx 13mm or 25mm wide. These stick best if the window surface is thoroughly cleaned before use, using Surface Preparation Wipes, which are included in the 5m kits but none of the other pack combinations. Magnetglaze Bulk packs and Magnetglaze Extreme are both supplied in cardboard dispensing sleeves, making handling and storage much easier.
The white adhesive used on the magnetic strip is visible through the pane but this can be covered by Magnetglaze Finishing Trim in either Standard or Extreme variations. The standard Finishing trim has a width of 20mm whilst the Extreme version measures in at 32mm, providing a smart aesthetic finish.
Either solution provide the flexibility to joint your magnetic panels, see our Magnetglaze Sash HD add-on kits, compatible with 4mm thick sheet. For a more smart, framed effect, you can also use Magnetglaze Pro.
