Hingeglaze is an add-on to the increasingly popular range of Magnetic glazing systems offered under the Easyfix brand. Used in conjunction with the Magnetglaze Extreme system, Hingeglaze provides comprehensive heat and noise insulation with the convenience of hinged access. The hinges allow for the opening of the secondary glazing to 145°, subject to space and safety, allowing full ventilation when required.
Hingeglaze utilises specifically designed, strong stainless steel hinges, providing effective insulation for windows of almost any size. Used in conjunction with 4mm Polycarbonate glazing panels, the hinges are attached to the plastic sheet and your window surround. Magnetglaze Extreme, 25mm magnetic tape is attached to the exterior facing side of the plastic sheet, with matching steel tape applied to the window frame. When the hinged pane is closed the magnets grip the steel to create a thermal seal, providing excellent insulation. Should aesthetics be an important factor, the system can be further enhanced using our 32mm Finishing Trim which sticks to the front of the pane to create an attractive framing effect, covering the magnetic tape underneath.
Whilst intended as a DIY system, inline with our other range of systems, Hingeglaze does come with the Hinges pre-fitted to the glazing sheet as part of the cost. The number of hinges is determined by the length of the hinged side of the glazing sheet, up to 1m high will have two; then to 1.5m will have 3; to 2m will have 4 and over 2m high will have 5. The number of hinges required is calculated for you when you enter the sheet size into the online calculator.
